The most important part of window film care after installation is waiting the required amount of time before cleaning. Whatever you do, do not clean your window film for at least 30 days after installation! You do not want to risk disrupting the film and interrupting the curing process. Depending on the temperature and weather outside, window film can take up to 30 days to cure. During this time, you may notice some haziness, bubbles, or cloudiness, but these should disappear after the 30 day period. Never try to pop bubbles! And do not try to remove creases on your own. If you have problems, you should contact your installer.
After 30 days, your window film should be fully cured. At this point, it is now safe to clean. You should clean your window film periodically to maintain its clarity and shine. Proper care will also extend its lifespan.
A solution of mild dish detergent and water is the best option for cleaning your window film, however, most commercial cleaners are also acceptable. Simply wipe the solution onto your film using a microfiber towel. A paper towel can work too, so long as it is very soft and does not contain any coarse fibers. Then, remove the excess solution completely with a dry microfiber towel or squeegee. Avoid leaving any moisture on top of the film.
